As a Presentation Sister I am called to live among those I serve. To do that, it is often most beneficial to dress as those I serve. It is very similar to what you do when you dress like others that you hang around daily. I think it makes me more accessible to people and they are more comfortable approaching me and bringing their needs to my attention.

We used to wear traditional habits. In the late 1960s the Vatican II council called women religious to return to the original intentions of their foundress. Our foundress, Nano Nagle, dressed in the dress of her time to mesh with the people she served. In returning to the dress of the times, we returned to the way Nano herself ministered.
